This website is published in the Township of Oulu, County of Bayfield in Far Northern Wisconsin, USA by Michael Sauvola & Sauvola Enterprises as a public service to past and present residents of the township of Oulu.

Space and editorial time and expense are also provided free of charge to the Oulu Chapter of the Bayfield County Wisconsin Historical Society.

The site consists mainly of 2 sections:

(1)     A "Current News and Information" section which includes current local news, a message board, an interactive map and information about the township and it's residents, and links to sites pertaining to our namesake, the City of Oulu, Finland, as well as links to geneology sites, and a link to the "Official" township website.

(2)    A section dedicated to the Oulu Chapter of the Bayfield County Wisconsin Historical Society. Excerpts of text  and pictures from two historical publications as well as links to geneology research sites and Historical Society contact information can be found on these pages.

The Message Board is asking me to register. Do I need to?

Registering is totally optional. Guests may freely browse the entire site including the message board, Historical Society pages and news items

You will need to register and log in to post messages on the mesage board.

How do I submit news articles/stories to the site?

Individuals as well as representatives of Oulu or local organizations are encouraged to submit their news.
